Ricochet shows Tangerine Dream beginning to progress.................In the early albums there is a simple dreamy approach to their work almost an ambient folk ! Clearly the seventies albums use the technology of the seventies but as we progress there is a change. The music still has the same foundations and there format remains long tracks. However, there is more of a change, if the early work is simple cottage industry ambient then this has a small but industrial feel about it. The rhythms are stronger and the overall approach has harder edges and a more defined structure. There is a better sense of purpose and a more defined direction. In fact there is more confidence in the whole things. I guess hat TD have been listening to what could well be the embryonic developments of electronic music in the club/disco area of the underground movements and could sense that things were changing. IT is also worth noting that Ricochet is performed live an shows a band more technical competent with the mechanics of here music so that they can adjust there performance more to an audience and cope with any hitches that occur during the performance...........................I look forward to the next stage of he journey
