There is no genre for this album. Only Harry album I own. For good reason. This is not your mom and dad's Harry Connick Jr. When I purchased this, I knew it was out of Harry's normal crooner big band style of work. Think I heard Hear Me In The Harmony and bought it for that. Best thing on the album for me and it's not that great now. So many styles in this album, r&b, funk, rock, jazz, pop. Maybe that was the problem for me, too many styles. Once I settled into what the album was, it became something else. The four Star Turtle tracks are total crap. The story of some giant space turtle who comes to New Orleans to find music. Don't ask. After some great selling albums Harry got free rein, and I think he was probably reined back in after this album. It did reach #38 on the charts, and may have brought Harry some new fans. But I doubt that.
