KISS "hotter than hell" vinyl/cd, 1974.
KISS' second longplayer from 1974, and second album release overall.
possibly their worst seller, yet it is one of their very best albums IMO.
has a very raw, edgy rock feel to it and shows them still trying to feel their way into the recording processes.
Got To Choose, Watchin' You and Hotter Than Hell are still live staples to this day, two dud tracks on here, five good ones and three classic rock tracks IMO...
Ace Frehley actually wrote or cowrote four of these, yet didnt vocalise on any as a frontman...that job is left upto Gene and Paul, with Peter Criss chipping on on vocals on my favourite track "mainline", a song originally written by Stanley with intentions of palming it off to Rod Stewart, either Rod couldnt or wouldnt do it at the time so i guess they let Peter sing it with his raspy vocals.
this album shows how fast they were devoloping as writers because they were only twleve months away from recording their ultimate showpiece "destroyer"...
