i really liked this one when i got it upon its initial release, but unfortunately time has changed my point of view and perspective of this one...
i now view this one as a cross between Band Of Horses and My Morning Jacket, some nice so-called Americana sounds, lovely baritone vocals from the vocalist, but there is little variation in the songs here, so much so that its difficult to listen and say "oh that song is such and such", all too much of a muchness...and aside from instrumentals(as a whole), that is my other pet hate with music(an album that all sounds the same!),some genres,however, only really have one sound ie: punk, but "alternative" should encompass a collection of all sounds and styles, and when and if the sounds on an album are all the same, they should at the very least have some intelligent,thought provoking lyrics to counteract that.
nonetheless, this isnt a bad album,didnt expect it to score quite as low as it did(maybe a 1.9ish), but it did and thats where it is in my collection right now.
