He was a legend for sure. I had the thrill of meeting him in Utica, New York. He started hit TV gig at the ABC affiliate there (like the story sez), and I met him early on in my stint in the biz. Everybody seemed to actually like him, but said he was pretty demanding. Fairly sure when I met him, he owned the station in Utica, or at least that was what I was told.
