SteveO Wrote:I am always exploring new music so recently I have been listening to Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and Kelly Forster among others. I enjoy the mix of techno with pop songs. Also I heard that Ozzy's son Jack is into DJing and did a mix with Crazy Train on it?
The only downfall to this dance music is the constant four beat drum machine ...it gets a little annoying after awhile...too much repetition! This is just my opinion. A friend of mine told me that the purpose of this repetitive drum sound is designed for people to groove or dance to in the clubs.
Time to listen to the Garland Jeffrys Ghost Writer album that Music Head recommended as I listen to a lot of different music !
Tiesto and Armin Van Burren is Trance, not techno. Although both are 4x4 beats, they are different styles of electronic music.
For me, techno it is not the kind of music to listen on your ipod, with a small earphone, while you are going to work, for example. Techno is a kind of music made to listen in clubs, with a strong and clear sound system, where you can hear clearly the bassline, the mixing effects and the "texture" of the synthesizer sound.
