Do you own an Ipod?

What type of iPod did the company give you? Are you sure that the sound quality is bad because of the iPod and not the music files?

An Ipod 'Nano'. I have tried various versions of these things and the old 'walkman's' as well. The quality on all these devices is crap. In order for a listener to get a real sense of immersion in sound, the speakers need to be able to move a certain volume of air (that's what speakers do). These devices cannot do that. The upper end of the audio spectrum is tinny and harsh and the bottom end is boosted to make you think it has 'body' to it but it does not.
