Over to the old cd's, with the follow up to last weeks Steve Earle selection. That one fit well
into that folk/country forum, but this one has to move him to the rock genre. A Mellencamp kind
of rock comes through on most of this for me. They can both make that transition with ease. A
few country flavored but more rock tracks here. This is the last Steve Earle album I own, not
because he fell out of favor, I just moved on. I'm sure subsequent releases are good albums.
Although the scoring of this one came out equal to the previous, I think I prefer it, due to
it's acoustic format. Three love tracks here and one I don't care for. Although not my
favorite, one of those love tracks is a sweet duet with Lucinda Williams who I like more
evertime I hear her. Shame there's no clip for that. The album hit #106 on the chart here and
#44 in the UK. The title track was a single but did not chart.
