Just going to add my sixpence too. I am sure hearing Sgt Pepper's way back when must have had some influence on me but it's not an album I enjoy - or own. In fact I do not own a single Beatles album (yes you can shoot me in the morning folks). And I am not a Stones fan either, although I do like individual tracks by both bands. I don't think that statement about the synthesizer is right, as they had been around for decades before then. All the other info seems spot on though. One thing I will say is that as a producer George Martin was the perfect guy for the band. I have a number of books where his work is mentioned and a large part of what made up the Beatles more ambitious projects was down to his innovation.
