Oasis were so Beatle sounding that I love this Band...voted as the number one band in a recent UK poll...Beatles were second...must be the generation thing! It's so obvious to see Noel as Paul and nasty Liam as John...but that's where the comparison stops!
CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:
OASIS "dont believe the truth" cd, 2005
the Gallagher Brothers' sixth album...(they released seven in all)
for themost part this is an uninspiring piece of monotonous, repeatative drivel...its like these guys had, had their run and were running out of ideas...which i guess must be true as principle writer Noel Gallagher only wrote five of the eleven tracks on off here, two of those are brilliant IMO including the UK #1 single "the importance of being idle"...which has very distinct Kinkd overtones to it...
all up, there were three singles lifted off this one, "lyla" which made #1 in the UK and #22 out here, the one mentioned above, and "let there be love" which reached #2 in the UK...
the album obviously reached #1 in their homeland, made the top10 in Australia and Canada, and made the top20 in the US...
interesting to note that Ringo's son Zac plays drums on this album...
