I admit to being unduly sensitive on this issue and not being able to see other than broad-brush humor. What more can I say? You can see his humor because you know him better--others obviously including me are not so knowledgeable or discerning. I find it better to not utter that which can be taken out of context, not on in semi-public arena anyway.
Not exactly on topic but true story: a friend and a good man was the organist in an R&B/funk band, the only Cauc. Coming back from an out-of-state gig one night, the Black folks were slingin' the N-word thick and fast. My friend uttered that word once. They put him and his gear out at the next gas plaza. (I may have told this story here in another Thread but it shows that I'm sensitive maybe hyper-sensitive on the race issue from all perspectives.). Again, I apologize to Crazy-Horse for having provoked.

A man accustomed to hear only the echo of his own sentiments, soon bars all the common avenues of delight, and has no part in the general gratification of mankind--Dr. Johnson
