Joan is a difficult one to place IMO also Ruby...
she covers so many genres(sometimes two or three in a single track)...
im not saying you have to do what i do, but when im in doubt i tend to stick them in "alternative" because that is a really wide genre.
im not much of a fan of Joe Jackson neither,but as a pianist there's no knocking him!
i would say "real men" is probably my favourite of his...beautiful piano work,good vocals and brilliant well thought out lyrics.
