Jerome Wrote:Phil Collins is not often recognized for his drumming abilities. I rate him in the top ten drummers of all time. Highly creative behind the kit. Never mind that 'In the Air Tonight' thing. Listen to 'Los Endos', 'The Cinema Show' & 'Dance on a Volcano' from the album Seconds Out. Together with Chester Thompson, he produces some of the most incredible rhythmns and structures - all highly complex.
i have that stupid "face value" album on vinyl...it hasnt aged very well, sounds extremely dated...must be those horrible 1980s synths and stupid drum sounds ala "in the air tonight"...
i read somewhere recently that although he officially retired from music after the "going back" covers album that he is apparently working(or about to start working) on producing the upcoming Adele album...
that could give her sound a new 'edge' to it,or...it could be really bad, i guess it depends what frame or mind/mood he is in when he woks on it???
