as we go back in the annuls of time to Elvis' early years,
this time, his second album is full of his so called "classic" sounds...
from the punky/new wave overtones of "pump it up" through to the almost ska sounds of "chelsea"...
only one song on here that i do not like, and thats a rarity for me with Mr.Costello, who incidently should have got some sort of award from the Queen by now for his servics to music(OBE/CBE or even a knighthood!)
album rates in those "all time" album lists coming in at #98 on Rolling Stone magazines top500 albums of all time, #82 in the list of greatest albums of all time in the UK and #11 on the Rolling Stone list of "greatest albums between 67-87"....
this is great Costello with twangy guitar riffs,thumping drum beats and venom spitting vocals and lyrics...
not my favourite album by Costello(even though i love it) but a pretty good place for the casual listener to start if they want to hear some very good late 1970s UK music...
