THE MOVE "fire brigade" vinyl, 1972
career stats:
studio albums..........4
singles...................13
a compilation album highlighting the years 1968 thru 1970 for this 'ahead of its time' progressive band from Birmingham,UK....
on here we have various styles of music from the almost hippy/psychadelic "flowers in thr rain",the heavy "wild tiger woman" through to the psych-pop of "blackberry way"...
lots of heavy guitars, dense almost 'wall of sound' sounds mostly with lush orchestral sounds through it...infact, dare i say it...almost Jethro Tull-like in their heaviest moments would be a good description...
not surprising really when a band has foreward thinking people like Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne both trying to outdo eachother musically...
yes, Jeff Lynne,Roy Wood and Bev Bevan from The Move eventually evolved into ELO, unfortunately after their debut Wood left the band and had a successful career as a solo artist and with Wizzard in the 1970s in the UK...
all up though, a great time piece of music/songs from a largely forgotten band of musical giants who later went on to record even greater material apart...
