This may be a placeholder album as happens to mid-career or end-stage artists til appropriate new material can be found. So what? Anything by Ms. Franklin is so many miles ahead of what others are doing, that it's irrelevant because it's the voice and new-found enthusiasm that counts. Hooray! And at 72, how many more trenchant albums can we expect? Can't seem to find it now but there was an all-divas show a few years ago featuring current power voices (Celine Dion, etc.) that was going along OK--then Ms. Franklin came on singing, showing everybody just what the deal truly is. A showstopper putting everything in perspective. Sure would love a link to that (hint, hint).
A man accustomed to hear only the echo of his own sentiments, soon bars all the common avenues of delight, and has no part in the general gratification of mankind--Dr. Johnson
