I think we all go through it
mine was the early 80's
I blame it on disco and my location at the time, central Florida
an absolute dead zone for finding new music I liked
even in the shops
punk brought me out of it
after I relocated to eastern Mass
where radio stations of every format were in abundance
think this is one of the reasons I never cared for Florida
along with the spiders and snakes and gators and swamps and skeeters and Haitians and ocean and Spanish and heat and love bugs
