I usually avoid that which hasn't stood the test of time. Most new stuff is...piffle. I have a place here and that doesn't very often include newly-recorded stuff. I've even mostly avoided commentary on an established artist that's put out a bozo album. My motto: Cerebration and celebration, not derogation.
