and the UK,until very recently, did not have a country based chart,so the only way to compare to the two is by using the artist's Billboard top100 chart as a reference point.
a country artist may have 50 or 60 country chart hits but only a handful on mainstream chart,same goes for their efforts on a jazz,blues,classical chart etc etc...
