World of Celebrities. Bad or Good?

I think a majority of people are gradually getting tired of this celeb obsessed culture and so-called reality TV but it's gonna take a long while for the masses to truly burn out and realise it's all a lot of nonsense.
I saw someone mention youtube at some point though and I actually genuinely think the breed of youtube celebrities is not such a bad thing. There are a number of people who I view regularly on youtube, just normal people giving reviews or opinions on matters. Now, obviously there's a lot of rubbish on there too, but the people I watch I find genuinely interesting, insightful and entertaining and they've received a lot of acclaim because of this - youtube's really made a name for them which, technically, they deserve and i'm just as happy to give them my viewing time than any so-called celebrity!

This guy is NOT an none non NATIVE SPEAKER I was born in England ..Think before you speak . I am worried that you have judged me on the basis of the nation that you believe that I have come from and made the assumption that anyone who comes from nations other than those who have English as their first language are ignorent of any other language than there own. Here in the Netherlands, most people are fluent in at least three if not four languages.

I think this thread is in danger of being locked. People are getting really upset over nothing. For example, while I made a mistake assuming Gryphon was Dutch and may not understand American slang, I was agreeing with him that the other poster was annoying for not writing "you". That part was ignored and instead a huge deal was made out of nothing. I really don't care how many languages you speak. I was making a joke because I think this thread has gone off the deep end.

I think we've answered the question that was raised in the title of this thread. The celebrity world is obviously bad as we have now discovered that along with politics and religion, it is a topic that should not be discussed.:nod:

I agree! We have discovered some people take celebrity (trash) culture very seriously indeed.
