What Are You Listening To?

AIRBOURNE "no guts, no glory", cd, 2010.

second album by theis Aussie hard rock outfit from Brisbane,
these guys were still only 20ish when they released this one,
owes a lot in sound to that of their idols..AC/DC. these guys are more popular in Europe than here in australia, have played Europes "rock am ring" festival on two occasions.
anyway, only listened to this one as relative background music this morning...Dani wanted to hear some AC/DC...couldnt find hers and mine are still packed but i had this one in my "to listen" to pile so i grabbed it.
a very stylish rock album, typical simplistic repeatative riffs, simple beats and strong vocals...all of which are essential to make a great Hard Rock album.

i like this album, would certainly rate somewhere between 2.0 and 2.3 if i had sat down and listened properly.

Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman with his second solo release, the first after disbanding Audioslave. Yes it made me
bang my head a few times. Chris has a great rock voice, but it tends to become tiring for me. Small doses are
in order. Still a decent album, but nothing I love and a few I can pass on, most notably the Billie Jean cover,
which I think gained some attention, only because of the strangeness of him doing it. Does nothing for me in this
form but I do love the MJ original. The album debuted at #17 in the states with the single of No Such Thing. Follow
up of You Know My Name, used in the James Bond flik Casino Royale, fared a bit better, but still a #79 was a weak showing. Chris may have been having second thoughts about this solo career thing by this point. At least I would have.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Billie Jean

Best Track - Finally Forever

On the silent night so out of place
I almost lost my nerve
When I saw you walk into my space
A woman like you I could not replace
And it took some patience to catch your eye
Patience to win your heart

Now it feels like I don't have to worry at all
It's finally forever

There's no hill I would not climb for you
No bridge I wouldn't cross
Not a moment passes in my life
That you're not on my mind
Together or apart
And it took some patience to catch your eye
Patience to win your heart

Now it feels like I don't have to worry at all
It's finally forever

Anytime you're lost
Anywhere you're found
Anytime you want
I will be around
Anywhere you seek
Anywhere you stand
Anytime you fall
Anywhere you land
Even if you break
Anytime I can I will be there for you
I know that you'll understand
You'll understand

Now I never would have imagined this
So I thank my lucky stars
As I see you in your wedding dress
Never would have guessed you'd fill my open arms
And it took some patience to catch your eye
Patience to win your heart

Now it feels like I don't have to worry at all
Yeah it feels like I don't have to worry at all
Yeah it feels like I don't have to worry at all
It's finally forever
Finally forever

i have this one in my "yet to play" pile, one of Corey's recommendations from a few months ago....he told me that when i get to listen to it to fast foreward the Billie Jean thing...so you and him are on the same wavelength i guess...might have to put it to the front of the pile before your post gets lost in the system to compare scores.

also, either chris has just released his new one or it is about to be released here in the next couple of weeks...wont get it though, well mot till i see if i like this one or not...

yeh, i think Candle In The Wind is lyrically one of the best crafted songs ever....the Marilyn one, not the Diana thing.
