Hahahahahaha you made me spill my coffee on my laptop MH !
Ruby: not only was Through The Long Night stuck at the ass end of the album it was also the flip side of the Its Still Rock And Roll To Me single, again,
something most people don't play...
does that mean even Jelly thought of it as a 'throwaway' track/album filler???
back to the thread:
not sure of Ruby's age, and I don't need to know, other than that I know im the youngest member here
but ive noticed that as you get older songs some songs hit you in different ways, the meanings change, feelings come more easily
or all of the above.
anyway,
theres only half a dozen songs I know that are genuinely sad enough to bring a tear to these eyes and this one is the saddest of all.
Damn you GJ !
Jelly Bowl is here to stay! Lol!! Btw - I'm thinking we should revive our Hall of Fame which is lost in the depths of the archives. And the Beginner's Guides - seems a waste for them to be languishing in the background.
Your GJ track also brings a tear to my eye CH, but not for the same reason as you, sorry to say.

Funny - I quite like bluegrass but country leaves me cold (with exceptions - always exceptions). Must've missed that part in my music education, which granted, was pretty thin.

From The Seduction of Claude Debussy which I think I listen to every couple of years ... something completely different ...

yes, release the beginners guides Ruby, I have some Neil Finn, Weller and Uncle Neil albums to add!
from Neil's feedback drenched electric guitar solo album Le Noise, here is my favourite track:
and the previously unreleased original acoustic version that only got released a year or so ago as part of his Archives series:
the "hitchhiker" album was shelved back in the mid 1970s as Neil's muse followed another path
anyway,
heres the original:

The title track from Fripp & Eno's
Evening Star. Love the cover artwork and can manage the first half with relative ease. The second, not so much - far too obscure for me.

For the title, among other things, one of which being that it's co-written by Isaac Hayes ...

The opening track from Transfer Station Blue - Michael Shrieve is something else when it comes to percussion - he has impeccable timing IMHO (Santana's drummer in the early days). Electronic/ambient and instrumental. Super cool album.
The opener "Communiqué: Approach Spiral" ... which is exactly what it is ...

Some plinketty plonk this morning in the form of Punch Brothers who are skilled musos despite my disparaging description. Lol!
Silly season is upon us - it's in the air - inescapable - resistance is futile, may as well go with it! .... Lovely stringed things ...
