FRIENDLY FIRES   "pala" cd, 2011

a revisit...
from the UK...
alt pop/dance trio....
second album...
picked this up from a discount bin many years ago because i loved the cover...
not a bad album, has a bit of a 1980s UK pop vibe throughout...
nothing really bad on here but at the same time theres nothing that really jumps out either...
I LIKE THIS ALBUM

lead off single:

"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.

LOU REED   "transformer" cd, 1972

a revisit
his second solo album
produced by Mick Ronson and Bowie
i never understood the fascination people have with this album and still dont
like four of the tracks: "vicious" "walk on the wild side" "satellite of love" and "new york telephone conversation"
the rest i do not care for at all
supposedly one of the greatest albums of the rock era but i just dont 'get it'
(maybe i should start a thread about 'legendary/great albums i do not like" (food for thought)
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

fave:

MORRISSEY   "world peace is none of your business" cd, 2014

a revisit
his tenth solo album...
the more i listen to Morrissey the more i love his albums
an acquired taste which i have acquired...
Mr Misery Guts, Mr Negativity and Mr Dour are all names that he would be happy with probably...
songs have that distinct Morrissey/Smiths sound...
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

HUNTERS & COLLECTORS  "cut"  cd,  1992

a revisit
aussie alt-rock band
their seventh of nine studio albums
a consistently solid rock band IMO
rarely if ever put a foot wrong...
actually saw Mark Seymour live a few months ago and he was still great after all these decades...
anyway,
i guess "holy grail" was the hit off this album but its not my favourite which shows the strength of songs on here
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
