The Eagles are "not safe" for anyone with good hearing!

LOL, I thought it was just because my mother overplayed them but I'm not really a fan either.

If you don't think this is good songwriting you are deaf. Better give Mr Cash a rest - he's starting to affect your judgement!

Would just love to see this band live

The encompass all the sounds of Medieval English folk music with the added refinement of the 21st century !

Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

Sometimes I just get 'stuck' on a track. Fleet Foxes's 'Mykonos' is it at the moment.

BTW, I think the neighbours have decided to move - into the fallout shelter.

SteveO - you seem to like big, dark, heavy stuff??? Listening to post above and it reminds me of something until THAT vocal comes in. Then I switch off. Sorry that's the way it is. Up to that point it was all happening - then it just fell apart.

I like EVERYTHING !!!!, my friend !!! Right now I am enjoying a great electronic instrumental album BIOSPHERE - Substrata....a joy to listen to !!!!! You're a huge Mike Oldfield fan ! I like his stuff also as well as The Pink Floyd Empire !!!!

Boy & Bear and Edward Sharpe and Beatles are not dark and heavy neither are AGALLOCH for the most part...it was difficult to pick a sample from YouTube...bad sound quality but Jerome if you listen to The Mantle album intently ( Tiggi has it quequed up to listen to ) from start to finish you will be amazed as well as their other four albums !!!!! This group has been critically acclaimed for years ...death growls are few and far between...give em another chance !!!!...these guys are too talented to be written off and ignored my friend !!!!

Don't let "death grunts, growls and screaming" make you to stop listening !!!!This band is about a lot lot more than that ! You can't judge Agalloch by one bad sounding cut off of You Tube !!!! I like them because they play non stop from start to finish and use many different musical styles which is fascinating to listen to !!! I admit that a continual barrage of death growls and screams is annoying but I don't listen or seek out those groups often. although I'll admit that once in awhile I like a dose of Cradle of Filth...lol..like I said I like it all !!!!! Friends don't call me The Music Nut for nothing !!!! A beautiful piano piece by Debussy is great also...on and on ! !

I am continually searching for new sounds that are interesting to me ! My latest thread was looking for straight ahead rock with good melodies ! ...such as this year's release of Alice Cooper - Welcome 2 My Nightmare ...one of my favorites !!!!! I don't have enough time to "try to like something" or "like something because others are raving over it" !!!! It has to hit me at once at this point in my life !!!! Case in point, the You Tube clip of the acapella choir singing Africa blew me away...hit me instantly...that's what I look for ...thanks for that wonderful post, J ! However that video can only be appreciated by watching and listening to it and doesn't translate well if you just listen to it without the video also !!!

I like William Orbit (you posted his name as Wilhelmina ?????Orbit ...what's up with that???....not a misprint I am sure !!!..lol)

What did you think of the Cairo clip ????

Jerome I just don't want you to think that all I'm about is "big, dark, heavy stuff"! All of my posts clearly indicate the opposite !I like all types of music for the most part , I can't just dwell on one genre, there's a lot more out there in all types of music !!!! A fabulous long winded saxophone solo by Sonny Rollins or one by Mike Brecker ( with Paul Simon in South Africa) will blow me away and hit me instantly ! as will a good old down to earth country ballad by George Jones !!!!...lol
