What Are You Listening To?
My old chums were pissed off and somewhat bewildered when Rush was here, they only played their new album Clockwork Angels ! No Closer to the Heart, Spirit of the Radio, Subdivisions, Limelight , or Tom Sawyer for you!...lol...kind of a direct insult to their die hard fans from the beginning!

Since I consider this to be a lot softer(even if it's just as if not more powerful)than what I normally listen to I'm posting it here.

Midnight's(Crimson Glory)cover of Through Glass

His cover, to me, is much better than the original.

Don't beat yourself up SteveO; especially in the case of CCR, maybe it was impossible to get the rights. Their manager and label owner Saul Zaentz was famously tough to do business with*--look at the 10 years he had John Fogerty contractually strangled.

* Much stronger words come to mind but this Board is family-friendly...

A bit behind since their newest album just came out but I'm loving The Black Keys - El Camino.

"water of love".....................#54 AU.......................

Knopfler and Co's debut set....
i think looking back on them now they have a lot more in common with Bob Dylan than they do with rock music as their music,
contains all their trademark jazzy/bluesy-rock/pop-finger pickin country infused sounds andintelligent storyteller lyrics...
,its Dire Straits, they have their sound and you either like it or you dont...tens of millions obviously do, and so do i...
one of the first 7" vinyl singles i ever bought as an eleven or twelve year old was "sultans of swing" and i never looked back...awesome stuff,
also noticed on Wikipedia(for chart info), that Australia was the first country that gave them a #1 charting album, we were also the first country to give them a 'platinum award' for sales...
not saying we were on the ball ahead of you guys in the US and Europe, just saying we were immediately hooked on these guys from day one...
anyway,
a very good debut album, one of the best probably, that showed the talent these guys definately possessed.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

worst track: six blade knife
best track: sultans of swing
