Aaron Sprinkle, former guitarist for the christian alternative band Poor Old Lu, then on his own, then as vocalist for Rose Blossom Punch, now a group called Fair which includes some touring member of Poor Old Lu. Full circle I guess. This is their second release, but nearly four years since the first one. First single is the title track.

Arctic Monkeys - Humbug



Josh Homme has helped the band achieve a more expansive sound, but Alex Turner's lyrics seem as parochial as ever.

As I've said before, the Monkeys can do no wrong in my eyes.

Undertones guy with his solo debut. One of those rare occasions where an album turns out to be less than I expected, after having not heard it for a few years. A few outstanding tracks, but the bad ones out weigh the good ones. A Good Heart certainly makes up for it. And I still love that voice. And I finally figured out who Antony reminds me of. His best selling album I think reaching #75 in the US and #12 in the UK with A Good Heart topping the charts over there. And leave the Stones classics alone.

Saw these guys doing Ambling Alp on one of the late nights and came away thinking, not bad, except for that interlude part. Not great, but not bad. Heard the album and came away thinking, pretty bad. Nothing else near as good. Ok, maybe Madder Red. New York bands second album. Opened for MGMT in 2008. Album inspired by an LSD trip. Try another drug. That didn't work. Ambling Alp was the first single, with a follow up of O.N.E.

Was Animal Liberation Orchestra but I guess they're doing the ELO thing now, and just going by ALO. I assume Jack Johnson is a big fan as they have helped out on his gigs and he has returned the favor and they are now signed to his Brushfire label. Jack appears on this album with co-writing credits and even sings lead on Gardener's Grove. This is their fourth album. About mid-range for me grade wise. Not many clips here so I included an interview done while the album was being recorded, which also includes JJ.
