I don't know. I occasionaly like weird stuff, but this is too far out there for me. I know it's supposed to be art, for some generation other than mine. Founding member Jamie Stewart is the only remaining member from the original group formed in 2000 in California. This is their seventh album. They must have sold some along the way.

Hi Murray.
I like PJ a lot. The White Chalk album took me a couple of listens to adjust my expectations, but I love it now.
Don't think she's made a bad record yet.
Incidentally, saw her live in '93 supporting U2 at Wembley Stadium. She was excellent.

Former Moldy Peaches member with his 6th solo album. Pretty good for me. I'm sure he can't mind the Lou Reed or Jonathan Richman comparisons. Most of the instruments are played by Adam, leading to a larger royalty check. A bunch of short tracks but mostly good stuff with an alt/folkie style.

Just listened to this today. I liked it too.
Have also got
Sixes & Sevens from 2008, which is also quite good.

An easy listen. Quite quirky. One for Tiggi, maybe.

Eels - End Times
back to the recommendations - this one from Music Head.
This feels like a Bruce Springsteen/Johnny Cash mix. I've listened to this a couple of times, so i must like it (the title track is my favourite). But I have a real issue with the bleak tone throughout - it's just too sad! I'm obviously an emotional wimp.
thanks for the rec MH - It's a really good album (even if it did nearly make me cry!)

Top man, E!! But, a tad miserable!!
If you want an antidote, not so much in mood but just in raw beauty...certainly enough to buoy the soul!

Thanks for giving it a shot.
My favorite music is always the ones that bring out those emotions you want to conceal. You know it had an impact.:brick:

I've been listening to We Are the Fallen's song "Bury Me Alive" on repeat lately! They're Ben Moody from Evanescence's new band, fronted by Carly Smithson, who competed on American Idol. Definitely ended up being a great combination.
