my Dad's singles collection....
CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:THE MARCELS "blue moon" B/W "goodbye to love" 1961

a return to doo-wop once again with this classic....
i love both sides of this single...
i love their lead vocals and harmonies...
the "A" side is one of those all-time classics that would have been a hit in any era of popular music IMO...
single went to #1 in the UK and rightfully so
here's Marcels' Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcels

Thanks for this and the Dion post. There weren't many mixed-race groups in those days (still aren't); these guys are the best.

I appreciate your confidence in me, Bro C-H. While I look, how about a Brazilian cover? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRXIBw-JKfY

Maybe the Dion clips weren't from a movie, but they sure looked like they were..

FIDDLER'S DRAM "daytrip to bangor" B/W "peel the tatties" 1979

UK folk group from the 1970s...
this was their one and only hit...
"A" side has a distinct music-hall/vaudevillian sound to it, i love it...
"B" side is an instrumental track based around fiddles...i love the sound of fiddles but im no fan of instrumentals on the whole
as you guys know...
single reached #8 here in Australia

"B" side...is a cover of the traditional folk tune, its okay also but nothing special..
the single failed to chart n the UK

ROLLING STONES "the last time" B/W "play with fire" 1965

im not a huge fan of these guys, but this single contains two of my favourite Stones tracks...
even though i love the "A" side i think i prefer the "B" side, probably because it rarely gets airplay out here...
single made it to #1 on the UK charts
