Atlanta Rhythm Section - Dog Days - 1975 - **

Fourth album from these southern rockers hailing from, uh, guess. Right. Formed in 1970 from members of Classics IV, memorable for the 60's hit Spooky, and members of Roy Orbison's back up band. This album contained no hit singles and only reached #113 on the charts, but helped solidify their position in their genre. Although their peak had yet to be reached, this album helped put them on the map. Hardly nothing available in the way of clips.
Favorite Track - Dog Days
Paper fans in sweaty fans
Shooing flies away
Reflections on a porch
A shelter from the scorch
When dog days came around
Babies squalled
As August crawled
Past old folks in the shade
The weather vane was stuck
And white oak creek would drop.
When dog days came around
[CHORUS]
The dog days were scorchers
Southern torture
But we found an
Answer to the plight
It was a dog day's night
Evening brings
The front porch scene
A time ro tesr your bones
I pray you won't be here
Come this time next tear
When dog days come along
[repeat CHORUS]
The dog days were scorchers
It was southern torture
But we found an
Answer to the plight
It was a dog day's night
Oh, yeah
More dog days
Oh, yeah

Rating - 1.5
During these dog days of summer, when we frequently have the all night rain, we sometimes get a little crazy and are tempted to boogie smoogie. But as you bless my soul, just don't give me the silent treatment when the cuban crisis makes you realize it just aint your moon.
