debut four track 'ep' from a Perth band....
sorry no artwork available for the post so a band shot is what we have...
so, four tracks, all themes deal with lost love, unrequited love, pain od losing love.....
the bands main influences musically are Beatles, Tom Petty, Goo Goo Dolls, Hoodoo Guru's,
Pearl Jam and U2...
I love two of the tracks and like the other two...
two members of the band used to be in a Foo Fighters cover band here in Perth including
vocalist (and my good friend) Corey Ranger...

fifth album from these guys and I own five, maybe six on cd and one or two of those in vinyl....
after album #4 they recorded their hugely popular "pretty in pink" thingy....
with the success of that their label basically pressured them into recording a follow up album
at a moments notice to continue the whole 'riding the crest of the wave' thing...
they did and the result is an album the band do not like to this day and rarely play anything
live off it...
its certainly not their best album of alt rock sounds but its still pretty good from a listeners point
of view, and that point of view is mine and that's all that matters...
a couple of absolute classics on this one and a couple of duds also, but that's the way it rolls...

this is a coincidence I have this one to post and am currently listening to vocalist Richard Ashcroft's
latest solo effort as I type!
anyway,
alt-rock/Britpop group....
I own "urban hymns" on cd also, only studio album o theirs I have...
nothing,IMO, compares to not only you but also "bittersweet symphony" and "the drugs don't work",
both rom that album...
the album gets the passing grade from me, which I was surprised of....
anyway, thought they were generally boring and monotonous during their career, but maybe hindsight paints
them with a better hue that I saw them in at the time....!

album #2 for Jack and Meg...
has their distinct style of chaotic alt rock sounds....
only charted in the UK and France (France was worse then UK chart high!)....
may have their sound but its not fully honed at this stage....
nothing I love on this one but a couple I hate....
again, with all of their albums, whilst listening im always thinking,
"this is good stuff" but once its over im like "what the hell was that about"...
and im like that with all of their albums plus Raconteurs/ Jack solo material....
but it don't matter really because....

6th and final album by this husband/wife duo
I remember when buying this thinking they would be singing together
not the case, he sings some, she sings some
neither comes through for me
Gerry Rafferty association with this album
when it was done they were no longer friends
and R&L's marriage ended shortly after
the album did not chart here
Richard's career had yet to kick start
