The King Gizzard album, irrespective of anything else, gets credit for the cleverness of the cover art. Tasmanians won't be happy though; Tassie has been left off the map once again.
Psychedelia seems back in fashion, at least here in Perth. There is a band called Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, who sound a bit like Tame Impala but even more spaced out.
I have four of their albums in total bob_32.....
I have to be in the mood to hear psychedelic music as a rule, I think theyre more eclectic than Tame Impala, not that theres anything wrong with Kevin Parker's material on the whole.
their second last one "paper mache dream balloon" was a more acoustic affair than the others...that one is my favourite of what I own.

Nice to see some local looking landscape in a music video, too.
theyre a pretty good band....
only released one four track 'ep' so far....
the video was shot on the salt lake down Rockingham way from memory...
Silent Deeds haven't gigged in a few months so theyre probably due to do so as Corey likes playing live....
Corey is a sports scientist at East Perth Football Club, pretty sure he has some involvement with the Eagles in a limited capacity also.

Birds Of Tokyo also use mainly Perth and its surrounds for their music videos...
you can usually pick out places in and around Northbridge, Leederville etc as locations they use.

U2's seventh album...

starting to lose their original sound on this one....
more diverse, going almost dance/electronic on a couple of tracks...
"one" is my favourite on the album but MH posted that one a couple of pages back....
BTW, John Cash's version on one of his "American Recordings" albums is the equal to,
I not better than this original version....
hard call between our tracks here for best track, had to go or the horses one though...
typical of all U2 albums for me, several great tracks, but also an equal amount of duds,
that just the way their albums roll or me...
al up though, aired better than what I thought it would after all these years....

Not sure if this artist fits here, but he seems to.
Glen Hansard - Bird of Sorrow
Man, I'm not usually into folky vocals yet this song is really tugging at my heartstrings. A lovely, simple, emotional song. Definitely recommend it.

I forgot to mention that my favourite track on the above album was co-written by Paul Kelly and Wendy Matthews (another artist bob_32 will know.)

I hadn't heard Midnight Rain - good song.
Several songs from that album are on the Songs From the South compilation, and they are OK songs but not his best.
Said compilation probably has just about everything I need from PK - great artist, but not someone of whom I need to have every release.
