Weekly music charts for 2016
UK music charts for 21st October 2016:

songs/singles:

[Image: little-mix-shout-out-to-my-ex-number-1.jpg&width=796]

Congratulations to Little Mix, who land straight in at Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart with Shout Out To My Ex.The track notched up an impressive 95,000 combined sales to take the top spot this week following the group’s show stopping performance of the song on last Sunday’s X Factor results show. 67,000 of its sales were downloads – the biggest opening week download sales for a song this year.

Shout Out To My Ex marks Little Mix’s fourth Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart, following Cannonball (2011), Wings (2012) and Black Magic (2015).
It’s only the third track to debut straight in at the top this year, following Zayn Malik’s Pillowtalk in February and Major Lazer, Justin Bieber and MO’s Cold Water in August. Little Mix’s feat is made all the more impressive given that the song was released on Sunday evening, giving it little over four days of sales.

Looks like Little Mix aren't planning to break up with the top of the Official Singles Chart any time soon – Shout Out To My Ex is still all loved up at the Number 1 spot this week.
Little Mix, who are set to tour the UK next year, officially have the most Number 1 singles of any X Factor winner, with four chart-toppers under their belt.

[h=4]Chart highlights[/h]There's good news for Norwegian DJ and producer Neiked, who rises six places to score his first Top 10 with Sexual, at 6. It's a fifth UK Top 10 appearance for featured singer Dyo.

Shawn Mendes is zooming up the chart with Mercy, which he performed on Sunday's X Factor results show, rocketing 25 slots to land at Number 15, and Galantis and Hook N Sling are also on the up – Love On me leaps 10 places to 27.
Good news for Drake, who scored this year's longest-running Number 1 with One Dance. He secures his 20th Top 40 hit today with Fake Love, which is brand new at 37.
