I know who Spice are now. I did not cheat; I heard it mentioned on the radio! I'll leave it for others to guess, if they can.
I would never have confused Daddy with Daddy Longlegs, since I have never heard of either band. Would "Daddy" be Free?

I doubt there will be any more takers - itâs been a while, so â¦.. the band initially performing as Daddy, renamed themselves after the book Diary of a Super-Tramp by W H Davies (no relation to Rick). I thought someone might know who Christopher McCandless was â the Into the Wild guy who also referred to himself as Alexander Supertramp.
And as for Spice, the band decided to change their name to something Dickensian at the end of 1969 as it was the 100[SUP]th[/SUP] anniversary of Charlesâ death and his works were at the forefront of public attention, especially towards Christmas. Basically, they thought theyâd hitch a strategic ride by naming themselves after a character in David Copperfield ⦠Uriah Heep.
