Oxygene Trilogy - Jean-Michel Jarre. Hadn't heard two and three before so have listened with interest! Disc 1 is likely to get played more than the others, I think.

Moving on to Vangelis now - 1492 - for some reason I've never owned this and haven't heard it in about ten years! Thank you Jerome - Christmas in July, almost! Many happy hours. Big Grin

Vangelis – Oceanic. Always liked this one but never owned it up to now – again, much obliged Jerome. Very easy on the ear and on the soul – loving the watery calmness and joy of it all.

Always seem to gravitate to “Islands of the Orient” but this time around it was “Aquatic Dance” …

Hope you are getting some mileage out of the discs Ruby. Thx for the Matt Berry info. Will give it a listen. I bought MFI purely because it reminded me of a sort of mix of Tubular Bells & Oxygene.

Still waiting for the new Tubular Bells BTW - supposed to be coming out soon. Mike is getting on a bit now so he might have to call it Tubular Balls...

^Lol!
Could get a lot of mileage out of that comment, but will refrain - with difficulty!

ENYA  "watermark" cd, 1988

her second,
im assuming this album would fit in "ambient" moreso than other threads???
was given to me ages ago by a mate.
a recording masterpiece, the recording studio's version of the Sistine Chapel IMO.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

the hit:

"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.

I like some of Enya's stuff but a lot of her albums all start sounding the same after a while. I think I have 2 of her albums but I rarely play them anymore. As for the recording process - her music is multi-layered - especially the vocal parts. Plenty of overdubs and sampling in her work.

Vangelis - Voices

Gorgeous - especially this ...

And "Ask the Mountains" - love it ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDPyw9OQ4TM, and "Prelude" and, and! The whole album is good medicine. Thank you Jerome.

Whenever I used to travel to Cape Town over the last 18 years I would go and sit on the beach and listen to that track (Come To Me). Mesmerising piece of music. In fact the whole 'Voices' album is. One of the gems in my collection. And you're welcome Ruby - a small thank you for all the pointers you've given me to new sounds and experiences. And you're going to enjoy the next parcel even more. While you are reading, put on Eno's 'Apollo - Atmospheres & Soundtracks'. They just go together very well which I discovered purely by accident one fine day while I was reading. Especially the one called TBS - sorry - no more clues.
