What Are You Listening To?
One of my favourite 'commercial' tracks by the master of the electronic genre - a great vibe going on here. https://youtu.be/eVA6Q3bCTO0
'The purpose of life is a life of purpose' - Athena Orchard.

Jean Michel Jarre - The Geometry of Love - a very laid back album for JMJ. Not as good as his earlier work but it has it's moments.

JON & VANGELIS "the best of..." cd, 1984

God knows where i picked this one up from, maybe a discount bin?

ten tracks, 79-83, like probably half of them take or leave the remainder.
worth purchasing purely for the one i would have bought it for.
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

but i do love this one:

They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.

GEORGE HARRISON "electronic sound." vinyl 1969

his second solo album.
and the second and final album on the short-lived Zapple Label.
one of rock musics first fully electronic albums.
the Beatles were not strangers to use of electronic sounds, they had used them on albums dating back to Revolver three years earlier. Lennon and McCartney both used the genre on solo albums also as a passing influence.
anyway,

the album itself consists of two tracks, one per side at around 18 minutes and 25 minutes respectively.
it consists of some sound effects from various BBC recordings and instrumentation is courtesy of the Moog-3 synthesiser.
to me it sounds like a God awful bad Sci-Fi soundtrack LOL.
it is said that although its not in the same league as the ones that followed like Eno/Lynne/Oldfield it is a primitive pre-cursor.
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM but it is strange curiosity in what was the Fab's legacy.

this may or may not be somehting Jerome would be interested in other than historical electronica value

Never even knew this existed CH but I will give it a listen nevertheless. Curious as hell as to how it plays out.

Managed 10 minutes of each side - pretty out there stuff. No my thing at all. To me it's pure electronic experimentation. Not something I could listen to twice. I think I have a headache now.

Thanks for taking the effort Jerome.
Good or bad you now know there's more to GH than "while my guitar gently weeps" and "something".

Eddie Jobson - I've been listening to his The Green Album (alternatively known as Zinc), and Theme of Secrets which was made entirely on the synclavier. It's quite remarkable IMHO. The Green Album is definitely worth hearing too - some sonic surprises along the way - I like that. Not sure why he's only ever made two albums of his own but he's no doubt had a busy life! Primarily a violinist but amazing keys player too. Going to have to source these two - love 'em.
