Lady Gaga is WAY better than Britney. Hands down, no question about it. Both are very sexual and have a produced, pop-electronic sound. But that's where the similarities end. Britney tries too hard. Have you heard her song "3?" I mean, come on. No one wants to think about Britney screwing two or more guys at the same time. Well, maybe some people do, but I don't. I think it's gross, and it seems to me that Britney is just trying to top Gaga AND all of her own old stuff. What's next, a song about doing a donkey show in Mexico?
Gaga, in contrast, makes music that is sexy AND smart. Plus, she can actually sing REALLY WELL live/acoustic. If you haven't seen her live acoustic performances you are missing out big time!!! She writes all of her own music, and does a lot of the producing as well. Now THAT'S an artist. Gaga rocks my world!!!!!

I only like a couple of Britney's songs. Lady Gaga has a couple of catchy tracks including Poker Face and the sometimes overplayed Paparazzi.
With Regards...

I am not a fan of either, but if a gun was held to my head I would have to agree with Catherine .. Gaga all the way.
She has FAR BETTER vocals then Britney. Her sexy image is much more believable then Brit's (who mainly just comes off as trashy) and Gaga just pulls off the "entertainer" package on a much more legitimate manner then Brit.

I'm not a big fan of either, but near as I can figure, LG is more talented, a better singer, and more artistic. Her performance on Ellen is a good example:
YouTube - Lady Gaga Speechless live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show The above performance reminded me of an old clip of Todd Rundgren: YouTube - Todd Rundgren - Hello Its Me Which do you think does a better performance on piano wearing Klingon battle gear and creepy eye makeup?...And remember, this is about music, not looks.

Never understood why talented artists have to resort to gimmicks. The Lady is a very talented singer/writer/performer and imo would be a success without it. btw, I've never seen someone play the piano with their legs crossed. I'm hoping she will grow out of the need to be flamboyant. Todd did. thanks for the post.

Though my view may come across as somewhat biased, i have to wonder and decipher the real reason behind everything. Why make the comparison between these two artists? "People" are often doing these things, and a similar comparison was/is been made between Justin Timberlake and Usher Raymond????
Anyway, Lady Gaga makes better music, is more talented musically, but Britney has her qualities as well. This Britney bashing needs to stop, its a similar thing to what the late Mr Jackson experienced. And to stay on my tangent, i defy anyone to say they wouldn't have or wouldn't "do" Britney. Back to the question! Overall, Lady Gaga is a better product, but this "3" song by Ms Spears is very catchy, sexy and of a higher quality than what she used to put out. My first hearing of it, which was an exclusive play of the song, filled me wih joy and other good emotions.:blah::blah::blah:

Through comparisons although sometimes the two things being compared do not match it becomes clearer what we do or do not like about the person or thing. I believe that is why comparisons are a popular way of talking about celebs.

To me, it's all for fun, to play couch critic. In reality, music is an apples and oranges thing.
Speaking of apples and oranges, Britney is more of a product than an artist or musician anyway. I have yet to see her sing a single note unplugged or see her play an instrument. Has she written any songs? No big deal. If the music is good, I don't care if the face on the video is just a face. Even the Beatles had a lot of help from managers and producers. And during their early years and before, musicians tended to do covers of old standards rather than write their own songs and break new ground. So I think you make a good point about the reality of comparisons, but I don't think these polls are meant to be taken as scientific. |
