Anthony "Anto" Thistlethwaite was born on this day in 1955 in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, England. He is a multi-instrumentalist (sax, mandolin, bass, guitar, harmonica, drums, Hammond organ) and best known as a founding member of The Waterboys.

He’s recorded some solo albums and is latterly a long-standing member of the Irish rock band The Saw Doctors but I am not familiar with any of these, and spare time has been at a premium, so heading straight back instead to the sounds that punctuated a significant portion of my carefree years. Good memories ...

The Saw Doctors, i remember them doing a cover of Petula Clark's "downtown" back in the day and i vaguely remember listening to their debut album so a revisit from me and an introductions for you Ruby might be interesting...
