First full length album from this 5 piece Florida band formed in 2005 and signed to Burnhill Union label (newly dreated in Chicago. Released a 4 song ep in 2007. Vocalist Jason Jones formerly with Drowning Pool. Debut was recorded in Wisconsin with producer Chris Djuricic. First single is Pictures, mixed by Randy Staub, who has worked with Mettalica, Nickelback and Alice In Chains. Album cover of band members faces on Mt. Rushmore on a resemblance of the one dollar bill and other symbols of America was designed by Jason Jones and photographer Stephen Jensen. Although some tracks are a little heavy for me, after a while I got into it.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Learn To Learn

Best Track - Down

I cut myself today
And watched the blood as it falls away
It's so amazing how
All of us are here right now
Were trapped inside a maze
And will be till we turn the page
And none of this will ever change
Even though we re-arrange
Our lives some how
We are all done now
And here it comes again
The beginning of the end
All fall down
And so the story goes
And everybody knows
All fall down
It seems all hope is lost
And once again it's all my fault
I guess I'm just one of those
Who'll never learn
But that's alright by me
I'll drink away my misery
And all of you can watch me burn
Won't you catch me when I fall away?
I pray

Eagle Twin - Murder of... from The Unkindness of Crows [Southern Lord, 2009]
Quote:...The tempos lurch along as if caught in a primordial ooze, and the register stays low thanks to singer/guitarist Gentry Densley’s gruff baritone. But the songs twist and turn through passages of free-form improv, pounding riffs, and pitch-black psychedelia, each less predictable than the last. ...

I used to listen to this guys once upon a time. I have Tales From the Thousand Lakes around here somewhere. I remember liking it quite a bit.

I'm listening to:

Krallice - Dimensional Bleedthrough from Dimensional Bleedthrough [Profound Lore, 2009]
Quote:Dimensional Bleedthrough, the second album from New York metal supergroup Krallice, is the sort of record that should find favor in at least a half-dozen listening circles. Its relentless squall-- rapidfire drums, riff-and-raze guitars, and back-and-forth electric bass, plus the serrated screams of co-founder Mick Barr-- could appeal to devotees of classic black metal bands Burzum, Immortal, and Emperor. The distended shapes Krallice's pummel takes might work for fans of U.S. black metal marathon men Wolves in the Throne Room. Or for those who get lost in the massed guitar works of Rhys Chatham and Glenn Branca or in the overtone hysteria of composers like La Monte Young, "Untitled" flits around one note. Darkly radiant and completely mesmerizing, those eight minutes of drumless glow feel like a musical cocoon, an alternate version of Barr's work on Orthrelm's OV. And for noiseniks, there are harsh, finessed impasses, too, like the prelude to "Aridity", where feedback and split octaves howl and groan...
