Hey, you can't say I don't try. South Carolina band defined as death metal, formed in 2003. This is their third full length album, all on the Prosthetic label. Looked to see what skepsis means. Couldn't find anything. Anybody know? Only one original member remains, guitarist Justin Longshore. One of the few cases where I can claim an instrumental as my favorite track. There were no screaming vocals to hear, and it was the shortest track. All yours people. I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - The Manifest Best Track - Insomnium 1) Parasite Throne - 1.0 2) Dementia - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Dementia 3) No Haven - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Through The Eyes Of The Dead - No Haven 4) Perpetual Defilement - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Perpetual Defilement 5) Inherit Obscurity - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Inherit Obscurity 6) The Manifest - 1.0 - live YouTube - Through The Eyes Of The Dead-Manifest 7) Defaced Reality - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Defaced Reality 8) Siphonaptera From Within - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Siphonaptera From Within 9) Insomnium - 1.5 - audio YouTube - Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Insomnium 10) Skepsis - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Through the Eyes of the Dead - Skepsis Average Rating - 1.1

Figured I'd try another one since Iota said I wasn't really trying. It worked a little bit, but not much. This is a band formed in Texas in 1999, but the members now reside in Florida/Georgia and this is their 4th album. Led by singer/professional wrestler Chris Jericho along with members of Stuck Mojo. Signed to Australian label Riot Entertainment for this release. Only Jericho and founding member Chris Ward remain from the original lineup. Martyr No More is the first single and has been named the theme song for the 2010 WWE Royal Rumble. Also a second single of Let The Madness Begin is already out. I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Paraskavedekatriaphobia (Friday The 13th) Best Track - New Days Dawn 1) Under Blackened Skies - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - Under Blackened Skies 2) Martyr No More - 2.0 - audio YouTube - Martyr No More 3) Grail - 1.5 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - Grail 4) Broken Soul - 2.0 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - Broken Soul 5) Let The Madness Begin - 1.5 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - Let The Madness Begin - Chasing The Grail (BRAND NEW!) 6) Pray For Blood - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - Pray for Blood 7) New Days Dawn - 2.5 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - New Day's Dawn 8) God Pounds His Nails - 2.0 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - God Pounds His Nails 9) Watch Me Shine - 1.5 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - Watch Me Shine 10) Paraskavedekatriaphobia (Friday The 13th) - 1.0 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - Paraskavedekatriaphobia (Friday the 13th) 11) Revival - 1.5 - audio YouTube - Fozzy - Revival 12) Wormwood - 1.5 - audio Average Rating - 1.6

It's full of noise, copycats, screaming, cookie-monster vocals, pompous viking pretensions, self-indulgent lead guitarists, blind fan loyalty, and other nonsense. Few bands seem to get it right. Once you start wandering off from the radio-friendly stuff like Priest or Metallica, it's easy to get lost and discouraged, or end up as a human sacrifice for some strange cult. Occasionally I stumble across something new and good, but not often.

Taking it down half a notch. This is a christian rock band from Tennessee on Razor and Tie label with their third release. Vocalist Josh Brown, formerly with Full Devil Jacket, who toured with Nickelback and Creed. After a near fatal heroin overdose he left the group to form Day Of Fire in 2004. Their latest tour has been with Daughtry, who has some writing credits on this album. Lately is the first single. There is a lot of crap in the world of metal but that is true for all genres of music. I'd say at least 75% of all music out there is horrible, metal or otherwise. But that other 25% is really good and worth seeking out. |
