Canadian husband and wife team formed this band in 2001. The band name is a lake in Saskatchewan. This is their third album. They pretty much did it all on their debut, but success has led to touring and thus a band expansion to now be a 5 piece. Music is similar to Yo La Tango or Soft Pack maybe. Vocals have some Pet Sounds era Beach Boys harmonies in there. Didn't do much for me. Why do they have these songs that run together and they have to call them Pt. 1 and Pt. 2. What's up with that? It's the same damn music. First single is Albatross. All that was available for most of these are those 30 second samples.

Frontman for Marvelous 3 in the late 90's, Georgia born Bradley (Butch) Walker has since developed a solo career over 5 albums. Each one getting good reviews but not much in the sales department. I haven't heard any previous efforts, but I'm liking most of what I hear, with only 1 dud track for me. Here's hoping this gets some airplay somewhere. Or is that a bad thing? Some of these live clips are pretty rough, so obviously the studio versions are much better.

New Zealand band formed in 2004 with their 3rd album. Founder Ryan McPhun is from California but after touring the world decided to settle in NZ. Them world tours do tend to wear a fella out. Claims to have picked up a lot of inspiration while in Africa for their sophomore effort. I can see where some of those African rhythms have carried over to this album and that's the only good thing I could find . Ryan should have had his way since this pretty much turns out to be a solo effort. Those African rhythms are greatly over shadowed by synthesizers and computer generated sounds which is probably why I could find nothing on here I liked. Hope someone can.

Brit alt rock band formed in 2006 with their 2nd release. First album was influenced by Wu-Tang Clan says co-founder Jack Barnett, who also claims The Smurfs as inspirational. Also described as PIL inspired electronic/dance. Some orchestra insertions were interesting but once again I guess the electronic side burnt me, which I guess is where indie music is at these days. Eventually at this pace I may have to change my profile to another type of favorite music. Then once again I'll have to face that continuing question, did I leave indie music or did it leave me. First single is We Want War.

Texas band formed in 2001. This is their sixth album. Midlake or Besnard Lakes, both of which I recently listened to seem similar to this. Midlake was pretty good and I think that's the one Tiggi liked, so he may like this. Besnard Lakes I didn't care for and that is where this falls also, with Castaways being the only track that struck me. I think it's the monotone vocals of Jonathan Meiberg that just never kicked in for me. Most of the music is quite interesting. Hidden Lakes is the first single.

Oregon band consisting of husband and wife team (ex). There seems to be a lot of those. Sam Coomes and Janet Weiss. Bass player Joanna Bolme was added to round out the touring element. All of these clips but 1 are from the same live performance at some club in Oregon. The video is very good, but I do not think the audio is very representative of the recording.

Swedish band formed in 2003 consisting of guitarist/songwriter Joachim Lackberg, vocalist/guitarist Anna Persson, guitarist/vocalist Daniel Permbo and bassist Daniel Tolergard. Shows a 5 piece in the live clips, so maybe the drummer is a robot. This is their third release. This is a tad poppy but that's not always bad to me. Once again, not many clips available. First single is Days.
