SOUNDGARDEN "telephantasm" cd,2010.
one of the few dud albums recommended by Corey...guess it happens once in a while, and this was "the crappy album" he gave me this year out of some 20 recommendations....
this is an apparent "best of" set, i'd hate to hear their studio albums because this is real bad!.
its a shame really because i did get Chris Cornell's "carry on" solo set and thought that was ok.
the thing that i probably dislike about this one is Chris' voice, not sure what it is but i just dont like his voice here.
the music for the most part is unbearable grating and screeching rubbish...i find it neither heavy rock nor alternative rock...its weird shit!
"allmusic" rates this 4.5/5 or 2.7 on the MRHS rating system....mine is about half that!
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

Once Robbie gets his teeth into someone new, there's no stopping him.
Live album from earlier in 2011.
The music gets more heft in a live setting, which is good, and there's a cover of NY's Revolution Blues that sits well with Israel's own songs.
Robbie preferred this one to the two studio albums, but I favour Barn Doors & Concrete Floors...
Not scored by AllMusic.
just checked out the "revolution blues" cover, not sure if it was from the same album or a random live performance but it was very good Tiggi....gonna have to explore this guy further...added to the list!

Hard copy.
Sounds even better in real life.
The material here isn't significantly different to much of what they released 30+ years ago, which is fine by me.
The closest similarity I could draw to this album musically would probably be Siouxsie & The Banshees, or late-period PiL. Love this sort of thing, and I'll be surprised if this doesn't get my album of the year accolade.
There's one sexually graphic song on here which feels a bit uncomfortable, but Magazine were never really about comfort...
Great music, combined with Devoto's dark & enigmatic lyrics/vocals, make for some superbly unsettling songs.
Still not scored by AllMusic, but getting strong reviews elsewhere.

Don't take me wrong anyone
I love all Beatles albums
But if I had to rank them, Let It Be would be near the bottom
