And sure he had his faults but that's what makes him so human like joe strummer. even though he was super rich and is super famous you can still relate to him on a personal level and i think that's why so many people connect with him on such deep levels even people born after his death. poor john he never did deserve what he got in the end.
i agree, "lennon vs the usa" was brilliant IMO...and you are quite correct Euan about the ending: it left a gut wrenching emptiness in my stomach, moreso than when i heard he died.
at the same time though i was 9 when Elvis died(or was put into witness protection) and i cried for a whole day upon hearing the news, he was my first "idol", loved him since i could walk!

You know that the reunion dis happen and there is some evidence that it did ? ( I'm not talking about Anthology but actually all four Beatles in a studio together after 1970 !!)

I was told at work yesterday (don't know what the source is, so can't vouch for accuracy...) that moves are afoot to get Macca, Ringo, Julian Lennon & AN Other to play at the Opening ceremony for next years' London Olympics.
Noooooooo !!!

The jury is still out on this one.
Macca has referred to all four getting together somewhere in the seventies and the results being poor. This was long before the fake reunions stories ...................Several times he has said that they might have Jammed together and that he and the others were very much out of touch and could not manage much.............They have all four been together in the same room in the seventies..........There is a possibility that the getting together in the seventies refers to the fact that all four Beatles are on the "Ringo" album although not at the same time.
The oddest thing is that Macca hates people who might be able to make money from his work.................There are documented stories about him taking action to make sure that tapes boxes of something from the seventies not being allowed out in any form.
John seems to not have ever mentioned any reunion .........however George and Ringo hinted that there might have been something.
It looks unlikely but one never knows.................

I too would love there to have been one but .....................
There are all four Beatles on the Ringo album and that is as close as we could ever come to a reunion.
It seems that John and Paul did meet in the seventies and at John's apartment he and Macca did play guitar .................Don't think we will ever hear that.
But maybe , somewhere .....................
