I don't think it's likely to be one site.

Monthly music magazines are useful in picking up what's out there, as is this place. Allmusic.com is a very good resource with fairly reliable reviews, so try that if you haven't already.

I like looking at random music videos on youtube, then following the links to their band page if I enjoy the music. I use stumble a lot or just random words in the search.
