Hello everyone
#1
Hi guys, my name is Pete and I am from upstate New York. The reason I decided to find and join this forum is because I had just listened to a song that I felt was incredible and just a masterpiece in every way and I wanted to find out what other songs were out there that affected people in the same way. So hopefully I can get some great advice from others as well as meet some fellow music lovers a long the way. I am a HUGE Bob Marley and the Wailers fan. Everything they have ever created is pure gold in my opinion. While they are my favorite group, I would say that I am a lover of all types and genres of music, as long as it is good. To give an idea of this, here is a spectrum of the music I listen to specifically:

Wailers, Eminem, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Amadou & Mariam, Pearl Jam, Green Day, The Coors, Sublime, Moe, Phish, Ray Charles, John Denver, etc...

So basically I am not limited to any one type of music, whatever affects me in a good way is what I like. Well, nice to meet everyone and hopefully I'll see you around the forums. Take care.
-Pete

P.S. The brilliant song that influenced me to find this forum was "Je pense a toi" by Amadou & Mariam.

Welcome to MD

We have wide range of tastes here..............I'll go with Johnny Cash Nad Frank Sinatra among others .............................Cool
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

Just been watching a movie called 'Solitary Man'. Johnny Cash does a version of the Neil Diamond classic and I have to say (oh oh this is going to ruffle a few feathers) that the man cannot sing. It's just talking accompanied by guitar strumming. As an art form it's certainly relevant, but let's not call it 'singing'. That's really stretching it. An icon he may well be but a singer - absolutely not. And on the subject of Mister 'girl's best friend', I think the introduction to Hot August Night must be one of the best intros to a live concert ever. Really powerful, epic stuff.

And I thought I was only going to ruffle a few feathers. At this rate the whole zoo is going to revolt. And while you're praying for my sole spare a thought for the chips & condiments too!
