I remember exactly what I was doing, how I was feeling the first time I heard Muse. It was when they first started getting on the radio. I was on holiday with my family when I was about 13 in the Lake District. It was raining and I was really bored, just listening to the radio on my bed when Unintended came onto the radio. Absolutely loved it - have been trying to see them live at every opportunity since!! Must have seen them about 7 or 8 times. The best was at Brixton Academy, again when they were just breaking. Managed to get to the front barrier, right in the middle. Was such an incredible experience! I also remember being drenched in sweat and water that the bouncers kept throwing at us (very active crowd!) and then having to get the train all the way back from London - I really didn't care though, was the best gig ever!!

Mine is Paramore, their song Brighter is the one who catch my ears, and I keep on researching the title and the singer, and the time I know it already, I was so happy, and I'll try to listen in some of their songs

My favorite band is the Goo Goo Dolls. I first saw the music video for Iris when I was really young. I thought the lyrics were beautiful and so relatable. I started to look for more of their songs, watch more of their videos, and eventually started to research their background. I found out about Johnny Rzezniks past and was amazed at how far he's come after such a tragic life. I saw him in concert and was blown away. I've been obsessed ever since.

I was introduced to Zappa during a long car ride with what would become good friend of mine (I had only known him for about a year at this point) and we listen to Apostrophe and Overnite Sensation and I was hooked. The amazing musicianship alongside the very amusing and clever lyrics were a winning combo for me.

It was my 13th birthday and it was around the time where i started learning to play the guitar. My olderbrother gave a cd with Santana and i fell in love with his music amidietly.
I listend to the cd constantly and tried to emulate his sound on my spanish guitar, which was the only guitar i had at the time. As time went by i started to look more into his music and i started listening to some of his early stuff like Abraxas and Moon flower and it was like a whole new world appeared. The thing that really hooked me was the pure emotion Carlos was putting into his guitar playing, he was the first guitarist i heard that had the power to make his guitar sing or cry. And this day today, Carlos Santana remains my favorite artist and my idol. |
