"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.
Thx. Just found it on YT. 'Giving it all away' was the track I was looking for. What would we do without this technology at our fingertips.

Jerome Wrote:Going to do 'The Final Cut' today - one of the Floyd's most underated albums. Don't worry Crazy Horse - I'll use headphones so I won't disturb you! The Fletcher Memorial Home here I come...... That's always played at the end of a listening session. Haven't yet found anything that could follow TFC...

The only thing that can follow TFC is fervent prayer. Especially after the concept of 'Two Suns in the Sunset'

![]() Probably a little to genteel for the Rock board, but here it stays... UK singer-songwriter of Malaysian/Fijian descent, who burned quite brightly for a while Still working, but haven't heard anything she's done for years. Her first album made her a millionaire, so I don't suppose she loses much sleep over a quiet career. This is her second effort from '90, and whilst it doesn't rise to the level set by her debut, it's still well worth a listen. Tanita was always very open about her Leonard Cohen influences, and it's quite obvious where her musical allegiances lie. Not a Leonard substitute, but in the same ball-park. First saw her live before she broke, when she supported Soul/Blues performer Ted Hawkins. She was 18 years old, played a solo set, and was a bit like a rabbit in the headlights. Very good, though.

One of my favourites Tiggi. 'Little Sister Leaving Town' is a masterpiece. And I have yet to find ANY track on ANY album where the quality of the recording of the acoustic guitar beats 'I Love You' (might have the title wrong - from her Everybody's Angel album)
I DIG THIS GIRL'S MUSIC! - she's pure class.
By the way Tiggi - here's a quiz question for you and all other Floydophiles. What sentence does Waters speak (which is split up in two parts) at the start and end of The Wall album? And what sentence is spoken at the end of The Division Bell album? Any takers?
My favourite 'effects' touch they ever did was the sound of the bubble bursting after 'Welcome to the Machine' i.e. after the party of success. He was trying to say the dream would not last. Clever bloke, Mr Waters.

I know The Wall answer:
"Isn't this where..... ....we came in ?" but the other way round. but don't know the Division Bell bit. Regarding PF sound effects in general, the clocks section on Time is a personal favourite, which is brilliantly lampooned by Easy Star Allstars on their Reggae version of DSOTM - Dub Side of The Moon - when they use a cuckoo clock... |
