Are there any recent bands/artists that are releasing good old straight ahead rock music with good melodic songs ?
I am thinking along the lines of the Nightmare 2 album by Alice Cooper, Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Dirty Work and Boy and Bear to name just a few examples.

i just sent you a PM to check out Boy & Bear SteveO...guess that was a waste of time in hindsight as you have already mentioned them!
so, have you heard Gallagher's album yet?...doesnt get released until this week here, heard a few tracks which have Kinks type rythms and melodies....sounds pretty good to me so far and a bit of a departure from the Osis sound.

Hi Steve O, My first question - a few come to mind, but an all time fav would be Peter Gabriel. Also, have you heard of a band called Postal Service? Enjoy
