Nuggets From The Gold Mines Of Obscurity
#11
I first came across this in the 70s as a single

I owned the album but then lost it in a divorce

I have never seen it on CD but this is a first class track:

Lady ( Put The Light On)

Big John's Rock and Roll Circus

Cool
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

This is an excellent band who have never had any exposure as far as I can tell but deserve some recognition.

They are a band which have overtones of early English music a bit like Gryphon

So Enjoy

This exists in many forms and the original one I came across was by The Horslips

However a search of Youtube came up with this:

This played on the Dulcimer and appears to be by a character called CarolanCool

The American Dream

I Aint Serachin

I posted about this track way back when I was anew member Of MD

I used to have it on a single but as things go I don't anymore

IT was produced by Tod Rungren for the Ampex label

It comes from an excellent but near unobtainable album.

I have had contact with the band( Via the Rising Storm website) but as yet have been unable to persuade them to get it put out on CD

So enjoy this gem as at last someone has posted it on youtube

Apart from ruling BBC R 2 folk music programs and favoring his own or being a stand up comedian

Here is a slice of Mike Hardin showing that, when he tries, he can reflect his roots like a true folk musician.

Here he sketches a charcoal drawing of the character of the hard times in his native Lancashire...............
