whats the most you have ever paid for an album/cd/single?
#1
i paid 450pounds($1200approx) for a copy of 12" single, King Truman's "like a gun" on Acid Jazz label some years ago. King Truman was a psuedynym that Paul Weller used in 1988.
it is a 'house' record,he was p*ssed at Polygram for not releasing his Style Council 'house' material. Polygram got wind of it and forced it from sale immediately, apparently less than 30 copies werent accounted for, my copy is still sealed...apparently its not a very good song but im a Weller completist, enough said.

also paid 125pounds($450approx) for Paul McCartney's "choba b cccp" russian album in 1989/90, was album of 1950s rock covers only released in Soviet Union on vinyl, eventually bootleg cd copies made their way out and Macca released the album universally. incidentally 'choba b cccp' translates to 'back in the ussr', again my copy is still sealed.

any other interesting purchases,anyone?

Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

I've got some rare things but I've never had to pay that much !

I have some rare Beatles things but Ive got them for at most 50 GBP

I have Beatles promo copies............"Let It Be" UK made Africa issued not on the Apple label but instead on Parlophone( (Apple was not a registered trade mark in Africa!) ..........................only around 20 copies only one or two are mint ( and mine is with cover ) 30 GBP....I found a guy at a record fair who went to the Lagos offices of EMI in Africa and liberated he only box of these that existed from a dusty old store room............most of the copies had water damage etc but I got the pick.....................Guess its worth much more now..............Cool

no, i got the 11 track version, it doesnt have 'summertime' or 'im gonna be a wheel someday' on it, from what ive read, the 11 track version was released in the summer of '88, a second pressing of 13 tracks was released in the USSR in the november of '88.

also got a double 7" pack of 'magical mystery tour' from 1967, on the first 7" single, the labels have been put on the wrong side of the vinyl, i found that one at a second hand record shop about 15yrs ago, didnt know about the labels being on the wrong sides till i played it, just wanted the 2pack ep,the edges of the vinyl have excess vinyl where they havent been cut into circles properly, dont know if its worth anything, but its in a safe place now

Strangely enough given the Beatles posts above, mine would be £135 for the stereo Remasters box set from last year. Given the content, that's not expensive.

Don't have a great deal of anything with much monetary value in my collection.

I bought some 8 track tapes that were pretty expensive.

The most I paid for an album CD was 31.99$ CAD (Canadian dollars). With taxes, around 35-36$. It was Crazy Otto - The Medleys. But I was so happy discovering authentic saloon music (you know, the kind of music playing in the Lucky Luke intro) with even some guys singing out of nowhere like if they are drunk...I could not resist.

But there's actually one I bought that were priced 35.99$ (over 40$ with taxes!!) CAD. But I was working in the store and I had a employee rebate of 50% so I got it at 18$ instead! I don't think I would have bough it at full price, I think we all have a limit. It was Stephane Pompougnac - Hotel Costes #8. But hell I love this album!
