I've just had to have a look to see what you were on about. I have a pristine vinyl copy, so have no excuse for never having noticed it :redface2:

I used to teach music, and I would read a Poe story from TOMAI, then play the corresponding Alan Parsons Project song from TOMAI - and we would analyze it together. It was fun...and scary.

Another clever one was the faces in the rocks on 'Tales from Topographic Oceans' - No I'm not on anything - they're there - look again.
The boy lying with the cubs on the cover of Bad Company's 'Run with the Pack' is also very good. Most people miss this one.
Forgot about the ELP - Brain Salad Surgery cover - that's a classic - the guy who did the artwork went on to design many sci-fi movie sets and characters.

And I wonder if anyone has noticed how David Gilmour used the image of monkeys in the Division Bell booklet to have a go at Roger's 'mother' image from the wall. See the similarity? A case of communication breakdown.

And finally has anyone noticed the scan of the foetus in the womb in the booklet of Rick Wright's 'Broken China'? This album is about the journey into and out of depression (hence the cover - which I think is incredible) and this particular track/image combination is about the influence of childhood - which explains the teddy bear. The constant reference to water on the album (think about it - Blue Room in Venice - slowly sinking into the abyss) is a direct reference to the fluid in the womb and this is also used to describe the process of 'breaking through' from the 'depths' of depression. (Reaching for the rail). Clever bloke Uncle Storm. Strangely enough his first solo album 'Wet Dream' also used water as a theme for the cover (yacht -which he was sailing around the island of Rhodes in Greece at the time, a swimming pool - complete with a rail - again, as Rick was the one in trouble this time with his marriage, a drink etc.). And of course he is a water-sign by birth. Storm left no stone unturned. The amount of thought that went into these covers is quite incredible.
